The choices and availability of children’s activities must be improved.
I have a six year old and the mad dash of signing her up for the few activity options that the city sponsors is unacceptable. How many Hoboken children are turned away because their parents missed signing them up right away?
We have no pool: our children don’t have an easy way to learn to swim.
Most of our parks are too crowded to throw or kick a ball, fly a kite or have a relay race, so without structured activities coordinated with precious ‘field space’, children, especially older children have less to do than their suburban counterparts.
